About Lestok Tours

Based in Tom Price, Lestok Tours is a family owned and managed company that has been successfully operating in the Pilbara since 1986.

Owners Bob and Sue Stump lived in the region for 25 years and their passion for all things Pilbara is evident in every aspect of their business - particularly their guided tours of Rio Tinto’s Tom Price mining operations and their amazing full day tour of Karijini National Park, its ancient gorges and spectacular scenery.

We are a full service tour and transfer operator, offering airport transfers between Tom Price and Paraburdoo Airport as well as private tours and charters for groups, schools, sporting clubs and corporate organisations.

Lestok Tours is a member of the Tom Price Visitor Centre, WA Tourism Network, Australian Tourism Data Warehouse, Tourism Council, Australia's Northwest tourism, Pilbara Tourism Association and is proud to be a Nationally Accredited Tourism Business.

We employ local drivers and tour guides, all of whom have an extensive and personal local knowledge of the Pilbara region. Our aim is to show visitors the natural wonders of the area in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Local people showing you the Pilbara

The expert local guides at Lestok Tours have an unquestionable passion and enthusiasm for the Pilbara region and love to share their first-hand knowledge with travellers to the area.

Barrie (Baz) Ambler, Senior Tour Guide

Baz was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, and has worked all over the state. He was a train driver for 13 years, working for 6 government railways and 7 mine railways in the Pilbara.

In 1976 he was the youngest person to become 2IC on the Indian Pacific network, and having also worked for the Shire of East Kimberley and a crocodile farm in Wyndham, Baz has a vast travel and working experience in both the Pilbara and Kimberley regions.

Baz is a train enthusiast who enjoys the great outdoors and woodwork, in particular recycling old timber into new works of art.

Baz joined Lestok Tours in 2005 as a Tour Guide. He has been a guide for our Karijini National Park Tours and is our most experienced guide when it comes to the Tom Price Rio Tinto Mine Tour.

His extensive knowledge of mining operations and train networks makes for some great commentary on his tours. He loves nothing more than seeing the expressions of excitement on the faces his guests when they witness the enormity of the mine and the massive equipment used.

Brent Hagen, Senior Tour Guide

Brent is from New Zealand originally and spent the majority of his adult life in Queensland. He is a graphic artist by profession and has also worked in sports administration for the Queensland Reds Rugby team.

Brent was keen for a new adventure and the town of Tom Price in the Pilbara region of Western Australia caught his attention. In 2015, Brent and his wife made the move west to Tom Price and he commenced working for Lestok Tours as a Tour Guide for our Karijini National Park and Rio Tinto Iron Ore Mine Tours.

Brent’s enthusiasm for the great outdoors, insight and knowledge of iron ore mining and passion for geology makes for an enjoyable tour and provides guests with an exceptional experience.

Nathan Parsons, Senior Tour Guide

Nathan is from Wollongong New South Wales. From 2008 – 2010 Nathan worked as a trade’s assistant int the Pilbara town of Tom Price, Gateway to Karijini National Park.

Nathan enjoys travelling, spending time outdoors. He is passionate about health & fitness and is a dedicated Jiu-Jitsu practitioner.

The call of the Western Australia Pilbara saw Nathan return to Tom Price in 2017 to become a Tour Guide with Lestok Tours.

“The remote beauty of the ancient landscape & it’s hidden oasis’s have to be seen to be appreciated no picture truly does its justice”

Nathan has spent the past few years guiding in Karijini National Park.  He enjoys meeting new people and providing guests with satisfying and unforgettable experiences.
